Txt with mass newlines in description could be used to bury comments, break page?

What I did: Entered a (.) followed by hundreds of newlines and then ending with a (.)
What I expected to happen: Some kind of text cleanup / newline removal?
What actually happened: Newlines appeared as is. Probably making everyone following my shake have to scroll a lot and be annoyed.
Truth be told it was expected behavior, but could be annoying if people start to get cute? Wouldn't want to sacrifice the principal of full, large text fields in comments because of this. Also works in comments themselves.
