Show status if file uploading in Chrome extension

What I did:

Used the chrome extension to upload an image to mlkshk. Which did work correctly.

What I expected to happen:

What I think would be helpful is some sort of indicator (yes, the ubiquitous spinner.gif or something) that lets me know that it is actually in the process of uploading. When uploading a larger, animated gif, it's currently unclear if something is being uploaded. The image-based submit button has no clicked state, so I wasn't sure that my click worked. On smaller images, it's just fine, since they're uploaded quickly. Uploading large images makes it seem like it's not working, or hanging, or my click wasn't accepted.

What actually happened:

It did upload after I noticed that the chrome status bar appeared with "Connecting to mlkshk..." but the small status bar sometimes isn't very noticeable.
